Botanical Illustration Courses

Various 7 week courses through out the year
We are holding a series of Botanical Illustration courses throughout the year. Each last for 7 weeks and they are held on a Wednesday morning. If you would like further information please email info@botanic-illustration.com.

Ann-Margreth Bohl is one of a new generation of stone carvers who is fast building a strong reputation for her work. In this two day master class you will be guided through the basics of direct stone carving and encouraged to develop your own piece inspired by the beautiful 17th century garden.

Watercolour Landscape Painting     Wed 6th & Thur 7th Aug  
with Sally Pollard
  10.00 -16.00 each day

Learn how to make watercolour sketches outside in the gardens from which paintings can be created in the studio. A demonstration led course with the first day held at Painswick Rococo Garden collecting visual information in watercolour from which during the second day, in the studio at New Brewery Arts, paintings will be created. 

 

Some experience of watercolour painting and drawing necessary. Paper will be available for purchase, equipment list will be forwarded. 


 
 
Watercolour Landscape Painting     Sat 10th Aug  
with Sally Pollard

Spend a day painting amongst the flowers in the sheltered Rococo Garden at Painswick. Demonstration led by Sally and, with her support throughout the day, learn to work outside from life. In the event of unfavourable weather, cut flowers will be used under the shelter of a marquee.

 

Some experience of watercolour painting and drawing necessary. Paper will be available for purchase, equipment list will be forwarded. 

 
 
Drawing Masterclass     Thur 29th & Fri 30th Aug  
with Celestino Valenti
  10.00 -16.00 each day 

Join Celestino Valenti for a two day masterclass inspired by the natural and architectural forms of the Rococo Garden in Painswick. The first day will be spent at Rococo Garden studying the environment, making drawings, sketches and notes. Your studies will be worked from during the second day in the studio at New Brewery Arts to create finished drawings.

 

All abilities welcome. Please bring your own preferred drawing materials.

with exhibiting artist Natasha Houseago

An opportunity to work with professional sculptor Natasha Houseago at Painswick's Rococo Garden to carve 3-dimensionally into a block of green wood. Come with your own design or be inspired by the garden and work on show.

 

Suitable for all abilities. Tools and materials included.
