Our 2018 season finished with a typically mixed day of heavy rain showers and bright sun on 30th November - a characteristic finish to another record-breaking year. Before we re-open on Wednesday 10 January, we have much to do!
Coming up first is our Carol Concert on Friday 7th December in St Mary's Church, Painswick - click here for more info about that. And on Sunday 9th December, we're hosting a Christmas wreath-making event - for more details on how to book, click here.
As well as our usual programme of winter maintenance, we'll be painting, deep cleaning and re-stocking, ready for our busy start of year. Our vineyard continues to take shape, with the restraining posts now all in. We've been busy sorting out and replacing the pipes that take the natural spring water through the middle of the Kitchen Garden, which has required a lot of digging and mud! You'll see some improvements to our car park, so we can use more of it in all weathers. If there's time, we hope to have added some more rustic play area in our woodland area. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest updates.
Our programme of events for 2019 is coming together very nicely, and will include return visits by our favourite outdoor theatre companies, including the Handlebards performing Shakespeare outdoors. We're particularly excited about our sculpture installation, Art Unbound, which will run through the summer months. And we have both new and old partnerships on the card, including events working with Butterfly Conservation, outdoor yoga, children's theatre and a programme of fantastic trails for school holidays.
We'll be back open 10.30-5 from Thursday 10 January - we look forward to seeing you then.
