The Season for Apple Pressing is near...

The fruit trees in the Garden are beginning to overflow with fruit, which means one thing… apple pressing season is quickly approaching!

After the popularity of last year, we are delighted to be hosting the Painswick Orchard Group's splendid apple press and juicing equipment again this Autumn. With the help of our friendly gardeners and volunteer team, you will be able to bring in your apples and convert them into bottled, pasteurised juice.

We are running morning (11am-1pm) and afternoon (2pm-4pm) sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, starting on the 24th September and running until the end of October. Anyone can book a session by clicking here, but be warned that spaces do fill up quickly!  Please also note that there will not be any sessions available on Sunday 27th October due to our Family Autumn Festival weekend (see more here).

So how does it work? The pressing will cost £2.20 per bottle to cover the cost of production, and all equipment and bottles will be provided. If you wish to provide your own bottles (which must be glass and screw-top), then the cost will be only £1.20 per bottle. Please do remember to bring in cash on the day.

Please feel free to bring family and friends along with you who can physically help out with the pressing.  The maximum quantity of apples we can press per session is 60kg, and the minimum is 1 large trug.

We would also be delighted to accept donations of apples to add to our own crop - please email Roger, our Head Gardener, via garden@rococogarden.org.uk to arrange delivery or collection.

And finally, do keep an eye on our Events page for more exciting Autumn updates.
