We've been thrilled with some lovely write-ups recently in a deliciously wide variety of media. First up is this intriguing article from The English Garden by academic Michael Symes, which puts our Garden into some historical context, and also features some gorgeous pics by expert garden photographer Clive Nichols. Well worth a read either before or after a visit, to find out why our place is so historically remarkable.
Secondly, our new Head Gardener Roger Standley was interviewed recently by gardening journalist Mandy Bradshaw. This article on her blog features some more lovely pics, but most importantly, gives an insight into Roger's plans for the Garden for the next few years.
We love visitor feedback - it's really helping us get right what we do. Tripadvisor is a great source of informed opinion, and this recent review says it all, for us. We actually got a buzz from reading this one! And of course we're busy on social media, which is the best way to keep abreast of the latest news. This Facebook review from an ex-pat with a taste for English Gardens gave us a smile, too.
All of this might be why we've just exceeded last year's visitor number for the whole year! We're delighted to be so popular with our visitors - and we're planning to be even better in the future. As Roger told Mandy, our rustic play area, the Auricula Theatre, the Exedra Garden, Plunge Pool beds and of course the Kitchen Garden are all firmly in our sights for next year... it's going to be a busy winter! More news over the next few months - do check back. Or read it first on Facebook or Twitter ;-)
