From 1 November we are extending our traditional opening period into December. The Cafe and Shop will be open every day, 10.30 - 4pm, until 10 December. The Garden will open at weekends only, again 10.30-4, for the four weekends of November and the first two of December.
Reduced admission charges apply as follows:
Adults £5 (non Gift Aid £4.50)
Seniors £4 (non Gift Aid £3.50)
Along with RHS and HHA members, Friends of the Garden also enter for free, representing even better value for those season ticket holders!
And if you've a four-legged family member... dogs bring their owners for free at weekends until 10 December! Read more here.
At weekends, when the Garden is open, our popular apple-themed Autumn Trail will continue. Our gorgeous Garden is home to a variety of historic types of fruit and veg, and you may see both when you visit. The quiz will guide you around this lovely spot, and you'll learn some intruiguing facts about apples (and the history of the Garden) as you collect the clues together. As always, there's a prize at the end - and best of all, there's no additional charge!
If you visit at weekends, you'll see the intriguing skeleton of the Garden gradually being revealed as the final leaves drop. You'll also notice work in progress on our replanting projects, ready for next season. The areas to look out for are the Eagle House border, around the Plunge Pool and the Exedra Garden.
Much of the produce we've grown this year has been picked but if you're lucky, you may find goodies for sale at the front of the Cafe. And of course we're still serving our finest homemade cakes and the best local coffee we can find, from Ethical Addictions. Come and have a warm in front of the wood burner and escape from the real world!
The whole site is then closed 11 December to 9 January inclusive. We open again for 2018 on Wednesday 10 January.
