For the second time ever (we think) a Handlebards' performance was rained off last week. Friday night's yellow weather warning for rain and wind here was the deciding factor for A Midsummer Night's Dream - it really was wild! So we've rescheduled to Thursday 27th, and although previously sold out, there are tickets still available from the Handlebards website as a few audience members have been unable to make the new date. So if you're free, bring a picnic and come and enjoy an evening of merriment in the Garden as the world’s first cycling theatre company perform one of Shakespeare's best-loved plays. There'll be plenty of energy, a fair old whack of chaos and a great deal of laughter. Gates open at 5.30pm with the performance starting at 6.30pm.
On Friday we welcome Gloucestershire's Youth Players, who also present A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Now in their 12th annual summer touring season, this youthful company will whisk you through court and wood, and back again, at a fair pace. It'll be a journey of magic and mystery, of love and loss, of discord and harmony. Don’t be surprised if several unexpected things happen in the woods, or if you are asked to attend the uproarious ‘play within a play’. Do come ready to be cajoled, enquired of, and entertained. On both occasions, guests are warmly invited to enjoy the stunning Garden prior to the performance. Fingers crossed the sun shines!
