Winter meets Spring

Winter meets Spring

No sooner are our famous little white blooms going over, the daffodils are out amongst them!  Cyclamen and hellebores are giving us splashes of gorgeous winter colour, and this is a great time of year to see the skeleton of the Garden.  The views - so loved by the designers of this Garden - are clear to see, both out of and through the valley.

Our Garden team is busy in our huge Kitchen Garden, sowing seeds and preparing the beds.  The mice ate all of our early sowings of peas :-( but the next sowing are doing well.  Up in the polytunnel the squash, pumpkins, leeks, Swiss chard have germinated - and the potatoes are chitting nicely.

Back in the Coach House, Spring stock is arriving in the shop and we've a new range of delicious homemade cakes as part of our new season menu in the Cafe.  Coffee and chocolate...  Earl Grey tea loaf (fat and gluten free - and still tastes fantastic!)... Apple and walnut.  Say no more!
