WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY

We are working to make our website accessible to everyone. Below are some guidelines which may help you access our site.

 Screen Magnification

One of the simplest ways to improve the readibilty of  text is to use the screen magnifier. On the computer click: start/ all programs/ accessories/ accessibility/ magnifier.

Access Keys

To access pages via the keyboard, the following access keys have been set-up. These keys will only work when navigating from this page:

How to use access keys
Internet Explorer 5 and above:
Hold down 'alt' key and number/letter of the access key, then press 'enter'.

Netscape:
Access keys are not supported
.

Lynx:
Access keys are not supported.

 Browser Settings

Changing your Browser Settings
The browser settings of a web page can be altered to change the page and content appearance.

Change text size
Internet Explorer:
Go to the 'tools' menu, click 'text size' and select the chosen size.

Netscape:
Go to the 'view' menu, click 'text zoom' until the size is large enough.

Alter text and background colours

Internet Explorer:
Go to the 'tools' menu, click 'internet options'. On the 'general' tab, click 'colors'. Deselect the 'use windows colors' checkbox. You are then able to change the text and background colour.

Netscape:
Go to the 'edit' menu, click 'preferences'. Click 'appearance', click 'colors'. Deselect the 'use windows colors' checkbox. You are then able to change the text and background colour.

Override text and font styles
Use these settings to make your browser ignore fonts and styles set on a web page.

Internet Explorer:
Go to the 'tools' menu, click 'internet options'. Go to the 'general' tab and click 'accessibility'. You can then override the fonts and styles.

Netscape:
Go to the 'edit' menu, click 'preferences'. Click 'appearance' and 'fonts'. Select the 'use my default fonts' to override fonts. Then click 'colors', click the 'always use my colors'.

Other browser settings
Other settings are available to tailor your web pages such as turning off picture display and changing fonts.

Internet Explorer:
From the 'tools' menu, click 'internet options'. Click the 'advanced' tab and select options from the list available.

Netscape:
Go to the 'edit' menu and click 'preferences'. Click 'appearance' and select the relevant options. Options include turning off images or changing fonts. Click on 'advanced' for further control of scripts and style sheets.
