The Great Bee Day! 29 May, 10-4pm

The Busy Bee Trail. 28 – 5 June, daily, 10 – 5pm

This half-term we’re celebrating our Garden bees! If you’ve visited, you’ll have spotted that we currently have six beehives onsite in two locations: they are lovingly managed by local beekeeper Sid Blackwell. The Garden provides plenty of bee-autiful flowers to keep our bees happy and we regularly have their honey available in our Shop.

Bees are fascinating insects and play a vital role in our ecosystem.  Sadly they are in decline and we need to do more to protect them.  On 29 May we are hosting ‘The Great Bee Day’ in conjunction with Sid and the Stroud Beekeepers Association. Come along and learn more about these amazing insects from our experts, see what they get up to in our observation hives, find out about and buy bee-friendly plants, and have a mini-adventure following our fact-packed ‘Busy Bee’ trail. There will be honey-based products for sale in our Shop and Café and there is also a family membership up for grabs if you can find our golden ‘Queen Bee’ hidden somewhere in the Garden.

The Busy Bee trail will be running daily throughout the half term. It is free to take part with standard admission and there is a prize to enjoy at the end. A visit to our Garden is the perfect day out for all the family to enjoy… why not join us as part of your Ju-BEE-lee celebrations?

Families can have fun battling each other to the centre of our maze or spend time relaxing in our rustic woodland play area. Picnics are very welcome to be enjoyed on the benches adjacent to the car park, or on the Bowling Green in the heart of the Garden. Dogs on short leads are welcome in both the Café/Shop and the Garden.

The Café will be open serving hot and cold drinks, delicious cakes and ice creams from 10-4pm with light lunches being served between 12-2pm.

Our standard admission prices apply. No need to pre-book.
