Famed for having one of the largest naturalistic plantings of snowdrops in the country, the hidden valley which forms the Rococo Garden is unforgettably carpeted with white for a few weeks at the start of spring.  There are fifteen known varieties of snowdrop in the Garden, including the famous Galanthus 'Atkinsii'.  This distinctively tall, handsome flower was first discovered in Painswick by estate worker James Atkins in the 1800s. The Observer has just listed us in the top 10 places to see snowdrops in the UK!

Update 25 January – the continued chilly weather has kept our snowdrops tucked up - it is tricky to predict but they are likely to be at peak blooming during the first few weeks of February.  Their progress will depend on temperatures between now and then – some milder weather will bring them on more quickly.  To keep up-to-date with the latest snowdrop blooming news, follow us on Facebook or Instagram or check back here.
